WHY THIS WORKSHOP

Learn Gond art directly from an artist immersed in India’s folk traditions.

There’s a difference between following a painting tutorial and learning directly from an artist who has spent years exploring, practising, and sharing India’s traditional art forms.

In this four-hour workshop, Prakash Garg will take you beyond simply recreating a Gond painting. You’ll understand the motifs, patterns, and visual language behind the art form, see how an artist approaches composition and detail, and then create a piece of your own with his guidance throughout. No previous art experience is needed.

What you’ll take away

  • Understand the cultural roots of Gond art
  • Learn its motifs, lines and repeating patterns
  • Create your own Gond painting on canvas
  • Take your finished artwork home
Worth knowing

Most of the afternoon is hands-on. Prakash will introduce the foundations first, then guide you as you create your own Gond painting step by step.
